Jimmy Wayne To Re-Create His ‘Meet Me Halfway’ Walk In Documentary

Tennessean.com is reporting that filming will begin in Nashville next week on a documentary about Jimmy Wayne’s ‘Meet Me Halfway’ walk. Colorado-based i25productions will be filming the documentary, and Jimmy will be re-tracing his steps in a car.

Said Wayne,

“It’s easy to try and explain to people what it’s like out there, but until you really see the places where I slept and the people I met … this is going to give people an opportunity to see exactly what I experienced out there.”

“It’s not going to be some downloaded sound of rain,” he says. “It’s the rain I heard on the walk. I want a blind person to hear this thing and be able to see the desert. It’s very artistic. The video documentary and the music are just more steps in raising awareness for these youth.”

We can’t wait to see the finished product!

Video Flashback – A Fan’s Tribute To Jimmy Wayne’s Meet Me Halfway Set To ‘Things I Believe’

One of our good friends on Twitter, @cadevvi, put together a great video last year featuring photos from Jimmy Wayne’s Meet Me Halfway Project. It’s set to Jimmy’s song Things I Believe, which is track number one on his CD Sara Smile. When we featured this video last year, Jimmy was in the midst of his Meet Me Halfway trek across the country to raise awareness for homeless teens. Great job Devvi and Jimmy!

Tennessee State Treasury Presents Jimmy Wayne With A Check For Meet Me Halfway

Photo - WSMV.com

According to WSMV.com, the Tennessee State Treasury Department and 240 of it’s employees raised over $2,000 for Jimmy Wayne’s charity Meet Me Halfway. The money supports his campaign, which raises awareness about teenagers who are too old for foster homes and run the ricks of becoming homeless.

Said Wayne about this issue, “We’re either going to take care of them now, or we’re going to take care of them later,” said Wayne. “That’s just the way it is.”

Well done Tennessee, and of course, well done Jimmy.

Make it a great day everyone!
